Installation of new PGM and Commissioned Office-bearers
On the 26th March 2011, I and my Commissioned Office-bearers were installed into Office by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Mason, Brother Charles Ian Robert Wolrige Gordon of Esselmont, who was accompanied on the day by an impressive deputation of twenty three Grand Lodge Office-bearers.
The ceremonial of installation, which took place within the Masonic Temple of Lodge Nisbet N° 1112 in Tranent, was witnessed by in excess of 130 brethren. A deputation from the Sister Provincial Grand Lodges was headed by RWPGM Brian Kerley and included Provincial Grand Masters representing seven of our neighbouring Provinces plus Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, Brother Patrick Diebold, from the Province of Provence in the South of France.
The installation dinner which followed the ceremonial of installation was much appreciated by the 120 brethren who joined us for harmony. After the meal, the brethren were entertained to interesting toasts and replies with the light-hearted addition of a song from our Provincial Grand Treasurer Brother William Watt.
Our thanks go out to the many brethren who made this day such a memorable and enjoyable one. Particular thanks go to Brother Douglas Fergie, who is our Provincial Grand Secretary and also the Secretary of Lodge Nisbet, for the co-ordinating effort he put into assuring that the whole day was a resounding success.

Freemasons present cheque
Over the last year the Freemasons of East Lothian and Berwickshire have been working together in raising funds for two local charities. Coffee mornings, Garden Parties, Quiz Nights, Sponsored Walks and a 75 mile cycle run all resulted in a final dance at Rannoch House, Tranent,on Saturday 13th November. That night, cheques of £2,500 each were presented to Denise Noble of Callums Trust, a charity which supports those with Lymphoma, Myaloma, Lukemia and gives End of Life Care and Isobel Malcolm, Assistant Unit Manager of Fa'side Lodge, a Residential Home for the Elderly in Tranent. A number of the residents attended the dance also and were treated to a good band and a nice buffet.
